Thomas D. Dooley is a German-American soccer coach, two-time FIFA World Cup team member and captain, who represented the United States national team in 81 international appearances. After a 14-year career in the German Bundesliga — winning the UEFA Cup with Schalke 04, the Bundesliga title and DFB-Pokal with 1. FC Kaiserslautern — he was inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame in 2010. He has since served as head coach of four national teams (Philippines, Vietnam, Guyana, and Bangladesh), guiding the Philippines to their first-ever AFC Asian Cup qualification. He is the founder of the TD5 Method, a mentorship programme teaching the mental pillars of athletic development to players and families worldwide, and the author of The Truth About Success in Soccer No One Teaches.
