The short version.
On a first visit, this site sets only a single cookie-policy preference (local storage) used by the cookie banner itself. Analytics is off by default and only loads if you accept it in the banner. Embedded video plays inline from our own domain — no YouTube or Vimeo cookies.
What a cookie is.
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. The browser then sends it back to that website on every subsequent visit. Cookies are the technical mechanism behind login state, shopping carts, and most online advertising tracking.
"Local storage" and "session storage" are related browser features. They live in your browser's storage and are not sent automatically to any server — only the page you are on can read them.
What this site uses.
The table below is exhaustive. If you find any cookie set by this domain that is not listed, please email [email protected] and we will investigate.
The __cf_bm cookie is set by Cloudflare and is classed as strictly necessary under the ePrivacy Directive — no consent is required to set it. Analytics cookies are not set unless you accept them.
What we don't use.
- Advertising cookies. No Google Ads, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, X / Twitter pixel, LinkedIn Insight tag, or any other ad-network tag.
- Cross-site tracking. No third-party tracker is loaded on this site.
- Fingerprinting. We do not derive a device fingerprint from your browser to identify you across visits.
- Behavioural profiles. We do not build a profile of which pages you read in what order.
- Session replay. No Hotjar, FullStory, Mouseflow, or similar. We never record your screen.
Analytics, off by default.
If you accept analytics in the cookie banner, Google Analytics 4 is loaded with Consent Mode v2 — meaning even when enabled, IP addresses are anonymized and ad-personalization signals stay off. If you reject, GA never loads. You can change your mind anytime via the cookie icon in the bottom-left corner of the page.
Third-party embeds.
Videos on this site (welcome video, book trailer, sizzle reel) are served directly from this domain. No YouTube or Vimeo player is embedded, so no third-party cookies are set when you press play.
External links to Amazon, federation sites, or social platforms open in a new tab and are governed by those sites' own policies — we cannot speak for them.
Controlling cookies.
You are always in control of cookies through your browser. Most browsers let you:
- See which cookies are stored, and from which domain.
- Delete some or all of them.
- Refuse new ones by default.
- Refuse third-party cookies entirely.
